The total number of boxes is 80 because Odin can handle 80 Samsung phones or tablets at the same time. By clicking on the Mass D/L button located right above the Exit button, you can enable 72 more COM Ports. The boxes on the 3rd row are USB Serial COM Ports that get highlighted when Odin detects a Samsung device. There is a progress bar right below each box to show firmware installation progress. The big ones are called Status Box and they show the flashing progress of firmware images. The Boxes: On the top of the Odin interface, you’ll see 3 rows of 8 rectangular boxes.If you are not aware of these terms, I have them explained below.
